DDs are good, but undergunned vs their typical opponents, but if you like extremely violent short ranged explosions where BBs go "Boom!" the IJN DD line is the most fun. Frustrating to get any good with largely because of the slow load rates on guns until T8. If you can, div with a stronger player (Discord preferred if possible), so you can get guidance and pointers. Learn how to angle and penetration mechanics and values. Watch YouTube videos from Community Contributors to learn the handling, tactics, positioning (that is hardest) and strategy. We have enough sky cancer already unfortunately. I would say you need experience to run them.ĬVs. All are good but torps are different and do not hit all types of targets. Torps ar strong but short ranged.įR DDs are fast and hit hard but no smoke so you need to know what you are doing, IMO not for beginners.įrench BBs are fast and have decent guns. USN BBs are good but infuriatingly slow up to T7 so you may not want to go that way at first. I love Königsberg and Nürnberg is good but also very squishy. Fast reloading torps but they do not hit hard. German DDs are easy and jack-of all trades. Brit light cruisers (CL) are good after T6 I would skip the Italian cruisers and the British heavy cruisers for a beginner. IJN BBs are good and I personally like them more than USN but they have less armor in general and are faster (more battlecruisers early on) Good HE and good torps, but after Furutaka torp angles are abysmal. IJN heavy cruisers are all good, but not easy to play. USN has some very nice cruisers but they have no torps, so it is guns only. USN light cruisers are good but oh very squishy (Omaha). Minekaze at T5 used to be great, now not as much. USN DD for gunboats and IJN DD if you like stealthier torping.

I would say the German BB and cruiser lines are good and easier to handle for beginners. You should play some and see which classes are ok for you.
